We went to Allen County Kentucky this week to visit the Mennonite Produce stores. We have enjoyed going to their community for many years. I could never live like them but I envy their simple life style.
Their homes and produce stores sit in the farmland of Allen County. Their stores, like the Mennonite family homes do not have electricity and they do not have cars. They travel by horse drawn buggy and plant their crops with horse drawn equipment.
Being early in the crop season we mainly located tomatoes and a few baked breads, and canned jellies (corn cob) and picked okra and sorghum.
Like most stores they furnish restroom facilities for their customers.
